How does Stickerpoints Work? FAQs

Stickerpoints gets round the problem that traditional sticker trading sites face - it's just really difficult to find someone with matching swaps. You may find someone with stickers you want, but they may not want anything you have to swap - making the whole process difficult and slow. Stickerpoints solves this problem - you don't trade stickers you trade points.

After registering on the site, the first thing to do is add your stickers and cards - because when you add over 40 stickers (or 25 cards or 4 Shopkins figures) more your account will be credited with 60 stickerpoints to get you started. You'll be trading in no time!
NOTE: Your 60 stickerpoints will be credited (assuming you have added more than 40 stickers, or 25 cards or 4 figures) after you logout and then login again. Click to Watch the Stickerpoints tutorial videos

Show/HideHow to add your stickers and cards to Stickerpoints

1) Click on the albums link (at the top of the page) and find the album (or card collection) you want to swap.
2) You'll then see all the stickers and cards in that collection listed, click more on the one you want to swap. The sticker expands giving you extra information about that sticker - click 'Add sticker' (or 'Add Card') and that's it - it's on the site!

Do this for every sticker, card or figure you want to trade - when you add 40 stickers, or 25 cards or 4 figures the site will automatically add stickerpoints to your account.
OR..
You can use 'batch add', where you paste a list of stickers/cards and Stickerpoints adds them automatically. There's detailed info on the Batch Add Page.

Show/HideHow to use your stickerpoints to select stickers or cards

1) Click on the album you're interested in.
2) Find the sticker/card you need - it will either have happy or sad looking 'Stickerpoints' (the character at the top of the page) on it. A Sad face means no users currently have listed that sticker YET, and a happy one, you guessed it - means that it's available for you to buy.
3) Click on more on the stickers and it will expand to reveal a list of users who want to trade that sticker.
4) Click on the cart icon next to the user of the sticker you would like to buy - and it will be added to your shopping cart.
5) You may notice when you add a sticker to your shopping cart that some of the stickers on the page become unavailable (a no-entry appears over them).
This is because each order can only contain stickers and cards from one user and so the stickers from all the other users are hidden

(You may want to experiment a little - delete the card from your cart and all the stickers from all users will reappear. If a user hasn't listed many of the stickers you need - try a different user.
Note: If you click on the user's avatar you will see all the user's collections (and no other users) and the items they have available - you can add items to the cart there too.)

6) Add all the stickers and cards you need - your order CAN contain stickers and cards from different collections, just not different sellers. When you're done - click 'Complete order' at the bottom of your shopping cart and you will be transferred to the 'My Orders' page.

Click the big flashing button to complete your order!

(At this point Stickerpoints will leave your account, but will not be transferred to the seller.)

Show/HideHow to manage your collections

t 1) Click 'My Stickerpoints'
2) You will see a list of all your collections you have added to trade - select the one you want to edit.
3) In the selected collection of cards or stickers you will see all your items listed - you can either show or hide the item (to other users) or alternatively delete the item altogether.
4) The only items you won't be able to edit are stickers and cards that have already been bought - in that case, they will be marked as 'SOLD'.
5) Any changes will appear instantly.

Show/HideA user has just bought some of my stickers or cards

1) You'll receive an email asking you to login to Stickerpoints to check out the order
2) Click on 'my orders' and then in the 'Sold' section expand the correct order and you will find the order details.
3) Parcel up the stickers - and make sure you pay enough postage!. The buyers address is on the order.
4) Mark order 'posted' - so the buyer knows it's on the way.
5) When the buyer receives the items in the mail the stickerpoints will be transferred to you.
6) Leave feedback and rate the buyer.

Show/HideYour stickers have arrived - now what?

1) Select the correct transaction in the 'My Orders' page and click 'Show details' to expand the order.
2) Check that all the cards or stickers ordered are correct, assuming everything is correct click the button 'Release Points'. This will transfer your stickerpoints to the seller.
3) Click the feedback icon to rate the seller and add a comment.

Show/HideHow many Stickerpoints do things cost?

As a general rule of thumb Stickers cost 2 Stickerpoints and Cards cost 3 Stickerpoints, however certain limited edition cards are priced differently (usually 12 Stickerpoints). Figures are more expensive, for example Shopkins are priced at 20 Stckerpoints, although this can be different for each collection.
You can easily see the price of any item - it's on the bottom of everything that's listed.

Show/HideWhat's the postage cost?

It's really your job to figure this out - but we'll do our best to give you an idea. Each order has estimated weight in grams to help you out.

Show/HideI try and complete my order, but it says I need to add more items

t Some users have a minimum order size, they don't really like having to pay for postage on an item that only contains a single card or sticker. You can understand that.
If you see this message, you'll need to either add more items from that seller to your cart or choose another seller.

Show/HideI've sent the order but the buyer hasn't sent my stickerpoints

1) It's likely your buyer just has forgotten so send an email and politely ask if the order is all ok.
2) Tell us about the issue on the contact page - and stickerpoints will contact the user.
3) If we fail to get a response from the buyer we will manually transfer the stickerpoints to complete the order.

Show/HideI placed an order but I have had no contact from the seller

1) If a seller has NOT marked your order as 'posted' (you can check this in 'My Orders') AND at least a week has passed since you placed the order, then the option to cancel the order will be availble to you.
2) It's probably best to first send the seller an email asking for an update.
3) Once you click cancel and give the seller a quick message your stickerpoints will be refunded and the order removed.
Note: As soon as the order is marked as posted you will be unable to cancel and any other problems will have to be dealt with by contacting stickerpoints admin.

Show/HideHow do I know if a seller is still active on the site?

Unfortunately, occasionally sellers join up, finish their collections and then never return to Stickerpoints. This can be annoying because you end up having to wait a week before you can cancel the oreder and have your Stickerpoints refunded.
The best way to tell if the user is still actively using the site is to check the user's last login date, you can find this on each user's individual collections page (click on their avatar). If it's recent you are likely fine. If over a month has passed since their last login, it could be an indication that they are no longer active on the site.

Show/HideI sold some stickers/cards but now I've realized that I've misplaced them (or they are damaged)

1) As a seller you can click 'cancel order' (in 'My Orders') at any point up until you have marked the order as posted.
2) As you cancel the order you MUST fill out the text box (that appears after clicking cancel) with a brief message to the buyer.
3) When the order is cancelled the buyer will have their stickerpoints refunded and all your items in the order will be marked as unavailable (You can make them available anytime afterwards).

Show/HideImportant: Stuff that will result in your account being frozen.

1) Some users have been joining up, listing their stickers, receiving the free stickerpoints and then removing the items that they just listed. This is NOT allowed and violates the idea of friendly trading.
We keep a close eye on new user's behavior, and users who have tried this have had all orders cancelled and their accounts closed.
2) We limit the amount of accounts per household to two and each user MUST have a email address that is NOT already registed on Stickerpoints.
